Further information on ECDA (see also www.ecda2019.de or the attached Flyer):

Following previous editions in Luxembourg (2013), Bremen (2014), Colchester (2015)Wroclaw (2017) and Paderborn (2018) the European Conference on Data Analysis (ECDA) will take place in Bayreuth, Germany, March 18-20, 2019. It will be located and hosted by the University of Bayreuth.

ECDA was launched in 2013 and emerged from the annual conference of the German Classification Society (GfKl). It is supported by the European Association for Data Science (EuADS), the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC), the German Computer Science Society (GI), as well as other European classification societies (British Classification Society (BCS), Section on Classification and Data Analysis of the Polish Statistical Association (SKAD), Classification and Data Analysis Group of the Italian Statistical Society (CLADAG), Japanese Classification Society (JCS)).

ECDA 2019 includes the 43nd Annual Meeting of the GFKl Data Science Society and will be hosted by the University of Bayreuth, an university in scenic northern Bavaria capable of attracting gifted students and first class researchers. The strength of the subject areas taught by its faculties and the strategically chosen interdisciplinary research priorities are only few of the factors leading to the universities outstanding reputation and attractiveness for gifted students and first class researchers. Also, an important part of the universities vision is the facilitation of dialogue between science and society by cooperating with other universities, colleges and non-universitary research institutes in all kinds of fields of research.

With this in mind, ECDA 2019 will pay special emphasis on interdisciplinary research and the interaction of theory and practice. The scientific programme of the conference will include sessions with invited talks and contributed presentations covering a broad range of topics.
