| The German Classification Society / Gesellschaft für Klassifikation (GfKl) was founded in 1977 to develop research activities related to the classification and ordering of data, to the processing of statistical or conceptual information, and to the construction of databases and information (retrieval) systems. It was one of the objectives to foster the exchange of methods and the personal contacts between different disciplines as well as to promote the education in this domain. |

i3mainz – Fachhochschule Mainz
Die AG Computeranwendungen und Quantitative Methoden in der Archäologie (AG CAA) und das Institut für Raumbezogene Informations- und Messtechnik (i3mainz) laden zum 2. CAA-Workshop vom 4.–5.2.2011 in das i3mainz (http://www.i3mainz.fh-mainz.de) ein. Dieser Workshop soll Archäolog/inn/en aller Fachrichtungen sowie an archäologischen Fragestellungen Interessierten aus den Bereichen Mathematik, Informatik, Messtechnik usw. auch im Jahr 2011 die Möglichkeit geben, über ihre laufenden Projekte (Abschlussarbeiten, Forschungsprojekte usw.) zu berichten und über Methoden sowie über deren (Weiter-)Entwicklung, Möglichkeiten und Ergebnisse, aber auch über Probleme und Fehler zu diskutieren.

University teaching post – Vacancy: Teacher in Statistics, Information Technology and Data Bases (GROUP ISA Lille, F)

The department of Economics at ISA Lille is looking for a teacher in Statistics and Information Technology and Data Bases.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Around 200 hours of teaching / year (including practical sessions, face to face teaching, group work, adult education and sandwich courses). He / she will be in charge of the tutoring and guidance of students’ projects
- He / she will be involved in Professors’ and PhD students’ research activities
- He / she will be in charge of statistic/data base studies upon request of ISA’s industrial partners and he / she will be in charge of developing ISA’s industrial network
- He / she will be involved in departmental life and the ISA Institute’s general/everyday activities, strategy, development and so on.
- Possible assignments abroad (teaching, development of industrial network among other possibilities).

ʺFollowing a biennial tradition, the Classification and Data Analysis Group of the Italian Statistical Society ‐ CLADAG will have its international meeting in 2010 jointly with the German Classification Society ‐ GfKl.
The conference serves the aim to deepen existing scientific cooperation between Italian and German data analysts, to establish new cooperation between members of the two societies, and to provide a forum for exchange of ideas between them. We do hope that this call will arouse your interest in taking part in the conference.ʺ
